The Wet Dream

Aha! Some naughty minds are beginning to wander into the drooling territory...Don't be deceived by the title...

FRIM regulars would agree that most trails in FRIM are quite friendly in terms of technicality. Hence, a very suitable playground for newbies. Last year, a new section was completed by Pat Brunsdon and his crew promising a totally different taste of riding compared to other FRIM trails. Aptly called The Dream. A technically challenging singletrack spanning for about 2.4km from Balau Trail to Rover track.

I'll take you on a cruise into The Dream right from MRR2 highway. Shaque will be your guide...Mind the pics. Some are a bit blur due to my shaky hands.

Turn right towards FRIM here. The turn goes under the overpass. Don't mistakenly take the U turn.

There'll be a traffic light up ahead. Take the left turn. About 30 meters from the traffic light, take a right. FRIM main entrance will be right smack before you. You can have a choice of parking outside or drive into FRIM and park in front of the school.

Cruise along Jalan FRIM and enjoy the scenery of huge old rainforest tree.

Turn left at this off road trail known as Balau Trail

Deadfall. Centuries old tree decided to rest in peace. Nature taking its natural course...

Proceed along this shady doubletrack. Trail will be decorated with some climbs just to warm u up and sorta prep you up for The Dream.

Once you are in, it's like being in a totally different realm. Winding singletrack hidden under the shady canopy of huge giants.

Watch out for the huge protruding boulder on the right. I call it elbow scraper for very good reasons.

Ride along The Dream can never be dull. From here, more tight singletracks going up and down. As if that is not enough, roots that like to play tricks on your traction will be aplenty.

Note the gap between the rock and the retaining wall. Purposely made by the trail craftsmen to slow riders down as Rover is usually crowded with joggers an other bikers. Sa, take it easy when exiting The Dream. We don't want it to turn into nightmare, do we?
